My sweet girl Bailey died on Wednesday, January 30th. I wasn’t going to post anything because it’s soooo hard to bear but then I thought, you know . . . that’s not fair. Everyone deserves to be remembered and honored and SHE is most definitely worth a small paragraph and mention on Facebook (and in my opinion, much more.)
This little girl was only 2 when she passed. We rescued her when she was 1 year old, and we have loved and adored her for the full year that she was with us. It’s unbearable to think she’s gone after only being with us for just a short time. 
I’m unsure of the horrors that she endured before she came to us, but I can say with all certainty that she had all the love, compassion and happiness that any dog could have possibly have during the time that she spent with us. 
She was so sweet and so loving; giving kisses like no other dog I’ve ever known. I miss her so much and I long for those sweet kisses that only she could give. Even my sweet Jake, who I venerated, was not as affectionate as Bailey in the sense of kisses and just wanting to be by your side, sleeping with you, and always wanting to be next to you in any situation. She was just a puppy and always just wanted to play and love on you and she was just SO GOOD. 
A good dog at heart but damaged by circumstances. She is soooo sorely missed by me and BJ that it really hurts. All I can say is I’m sorry to her. I’m sorry for what she endured before she came to us and I’m sorry I couldn’t protect her from what happened in the end. 
She used to do this crazy thing with her mouth like a clicking noise that I made fun of because it was so funny and cute. I called her “Chompers” (from the movie “Something About Mary” and also from something I saw on an episode of South Park “Chomp chomp ba chewy chomp!”) because of it. All I can say is “I’m so sorry, my baby girl, my Bailey, my ‘Chompers’. We love you so much and we miss your love, your playfulness and your sweetness. We love you deeply and we thank you for the time we’ve spent together We will never forget you and are so thankful that you came into our lives, no matter how briefly.”

 

While searching for my spirit guides, my dreams were invaded by something else

I’ve referenced Nicky Sutton in some of my posts before. I watch her videos on her site Spiritual Awakening. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr5xw3WzOAULh8Qi9-8BINQ

One of her videos was “Meeting your Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels.” As I am very interested in meeting my spirit guides, I paid close attention to the video. She stated that you should set the intention before you go to sleep that you will meet your spirit guide in your dreams, and you will remember your dream when you wake up. I decided to do that and before I feel asleep, I enthusiastically set the intention to meet my guides and angels and remember my dreams when I wake up. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Even though I remembered my dreams in the morning, they were not of my spirit guides and instead of being enlightening; they were very disturbing.  

I couldn’t go to sleep easily. Partly because I was so overwhelmed by what had happened with Jake http://metaphysicsme.com/blog/dog-jake-reaching-beyond-veil/ and couldn’t get the experience out of my mind. I kept looking at the clock not even realizing that I dozed off a couple of times. I saw the clock at 2 something, at 3 something and again at 5 something. I was so discombobulated by my dreams that when it started to get sunny outside at around 5:00 AM, I felt very out of sorts. Here is a breakdown of the dreams that I remembered.

The first dream was me being in my bedroom as a child with my sister, Denise in our bed. I don’t remember ever sharing a bed with Denise, so this was weird, and I can’t promise that it was Denise (because I never saw her) but, in my dream, I felt it was. My eyes were squeezed shut and I was trying to scream. I heard Denise gurgling, making noises like she had something stuck in her throat. My arms were thrashing around and at one point my hand found its way to her open mouth as she was gurgling fiercely. I was fighting to scream. So much that even in my dream my jaw hurt from straining. I actually remember my body tightening up in an effort to scream but all that I could get out was a hard “urggghhhh” sound. I also remember in my dream that I was telling myself to keep my eyes closed. I was squeezing them shut very hard all the while thrashing around and trying to save Denise from “drowning” with her making that horrible gurgling noise. Even though my eyes were closed I remember pondering “what can I knock over to make noise that would make the “dogs” start barking and alert “my parents?” (We never had dogs growing up. Maybe one here and there but not multiple dogs that I’ve had as an adult). But I was extrapolating the thought of what would alert my parents of potential danger? I think that this was a modern-day solution that I thought of and not an actual memory. Either way, it was horrible. I kind of woke up and rolled over and eventually dosed back off even though I don’t remember falling asleep again.

The next dream I was in a spaceship. I described it to my husband, BJ as being like a sci-fi dream. I remember being in a spaceship, not as you would see on TV but more like a big sterile room that I knew was a spaceship because when I looked out of the portal I could see more ships connected to it. This image may have come from a book that I started reading, “The Allagash Abductions.” I was running down a long corridor from something I didn’t see but was afraid of. I couldn’t escape or get outside because of these other shiny ships that were all connected to the one I was on. I was frantic in my effort to escape but to no avail.

I woke up again and fell back asleep again. This last dream was familiar and horrific. I feel like I had it before because it kind of seemed familiar in my dream as I regularly remember my dreams. I was running from 5 men and a woman (?) and they were trying to attack and rape me. It was very obvious their intention and all I could think of was I have to get away or they are going to rape me. Not sure where the woman came into play, but it reminded me of that scary movie “The Strangers” Wikipedia explains: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Strangers_(2008_film)

Writer-director Bertino was inspired by real-life events: the Manson family Tate murders, a multiple homicide; the Keddie Cabin Murders, that occurred in California in 1981; and a series of break-ins that occurred in his own neighborhood as a child . . . contemporary film scholars have interpreted it as a criticism of the perceived safety of pastoral life, as well as an exploration of stranger-on-stranger violence.”

In my dream, I was in a desolated area kind of like a run-down Buckroe Beach in Hampton, Virginia before they did a rejuvenation of the area. There was a deserted hotel and warehouses and I was running in tall, dead grass. I was cornered a few times but managed to escape only to be cornered again on railroad tracks. I found a broken train car that I was trying to climb onto to see where I was. I remember thinking if I can get to the top of one of the cars, I might be able to see where I was and find an escape route. When I managed to get onto of this car, I saw an interstate that I was hoping to get to in order to flag someone down but never did see any cars. There was an explosion (I think caused by me somehow) when I jumped off the top of the train car and when I finally thought I was getting away. As I’m trying to make my way to the interstate, my would-be attackers they somehow conjured a pack of wolves/coyotes to block my path. This dream and the men in it seemed familiar not like I knew them in life but that maybe I “saw” them in another bad dream. I still “feel” the dream and it was and still is, horrible and scary.

I finally got up at around 10 and didn’t really give the dreams much thought. I woke up with a good attitude and a smile on my face thinking about the experience that I had with Jake and finally felt “good” after 6 days of hell. It was only after I told BJ about my experience with Jake (he was having a really hard day. It was the first time either one of us had been back to work since Jakey passed.) I was excited to tell him the good news and explained to him what I had experienced. It was only after that I kind of flippantly told him about my wacky really bad dreams after that. His suggestion of what the dreams meant blew me away.

He thought that maybe the first dream that I had was a repressed memory about being abducted. This really freaks me out because in the dream I was trying to save Denise who was gurgling but I refused to open my eyes and I couldn’t scream no matter how hard I tried. I physically tensed up in my dream and my memory of the dream while trying to scream. This is also creepy because of the second dream being on a “spaceship”. I don’t remember ever sharing a bed with Denise as a child and it’s weird that I would be trying to get “my parents” attention as if they could come and save us. I’m not sure what the third dream was about. Maybe since the idea of being raped was so prominent, it was the act of being abducted that I equated to being raped. BJ thought that maybe since I had this experience with Jake, I opened myself up and then when I asked to see my spirit guides/guardian angels my mind took that as a way to open repressed memories. This really freaks me out. I never made a connection to being abducted in these dreams, but I’ll never forget the sound of “Denise” gurgling and the inability to scream no matter how hard I tried.

Interestingly, www.dreammoods.com states that seeing an explosion in your dreams means that: “To see explosions in your dream symbolize your repressed anger. The rage that you have been holding in has come to the surface in a forceful and violent manner. Your subconscious is trying to get your attention.” As I don’t remember actually seeing the cause of the explosion only the sound and me looking back at it, another interpretation caught my attention.

 “To hear the sound of a loud explosion, but you did not see it indicates that something is about to be exposed or come into consciousness.”

The site goes on to explain that “To see a pack of wolves in your dream symbolizes a family unit. It may highlight a sense of belonging and how family looks out for each other. Alternatively, a wolf pack represents a gang or an intimidating group.” And “To see a coyote in your dream denotes deception and weakness.” As I’m not sure which animal pack I saw I’m not sure how to interpret which one of these scenarios are accurate.

I’m going to possibly explore this further in my mind but honestly, the thought terrifies me which just adds credence to the fact that it could be a repressed memory of being abducted as a child. Yes, I believe in aliens and beings of extraterrestrial origin but am I ready to face that possibility? Ummm, not quite. I actually did have an experience which I’ll explain in a later blog, so stand by!

I was feeling so alone when my dog Jake passed away in June.

               

This has been a really hard couple of weeks. I’ve been missing my sweet dog Jake and it’s been hitting me really hard. In October I was a Speaker at the Metaphysical Chapel of Life      , the chapel I attend. Since it was right before Halloween I spoke about the difference between ghosts and spirits. I have a video that I may upload after I get it edited. I included a couple of examples and pictures of the occurrences that I experienced in my house with a couple of them with Jake.  As I had my dog Jake since he was 5 1/2 weeks old; he was a constant furry bundle at my feet. 

I have been beside myself with grief. Crying almost non-stop since it happened. Sunday, 6/24/18 was really hard for me. I miss him so much and only have his harness to hold onto. I made a bundle out of the big towel that I used to dry him off and keep him warm after we got out of the pool and sleep with that and the comforter that we took to the vet with us. Sunday night I went to bed, holding my bundle, clutching my comforter and crying over him. I couldn’t reign in the pain and kept crying so hard that I couldn’t breathe through my nose. I told myself that I had to calm down and tried to steady my breathing. I slowed my breathing down so far that I actually thought to myself, “wow how am I still alive after barely breathing?” It reminded me of when people die in the movies their breath gets very shallow and slow and then they just stop. I was at my lowest of lows and the grief was stifling. As I lay there and try to calm down I start talking to Jake. I tell him I love him, I miss him, and I wish he were there with me. I was confused as to why I hadn’t “seen” him yet as our connection was so close that I thought surely, he would come to me but so far, he hadn’t. Even though I made a notation about it on Friday, 6/23/18, thinking that I saw him twice but thought it was the other dogs at both times even though it wasn’t. As I lay there barely breathing, I went into a trance-like state. I was talking to Jake and I felt like he was talking back to me. As I was saying, I love you, I love you, I love you it echoed in my head. I miss you, I miss you, I miss you. I then found myself saying “It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay. I’m okay, I’m okay, I’m okay.” At two different times (one of them being 12:27 am when I said “I’m okay, I’m okay, I’m okay) I felt pressure on my back like someone laid down behind me and gently pushed on my back. A short time after when I was saying “I miss you, I miss you, I miss you” I felt it again. I believe this was Jake. I felt an overwhelming happy, peaceful and joyful feeling wash over me. I felt like he was there with me, comforting me and consoling me. I “felt” him talk to me, communicate to me that he was there with me and it was going to be okay. I can’t express how happy I was. Ecstatic even. I felt like, maybe I could get through this life without him for the first time since he passed. I wanted to savor this moment. It was transcendent. I was so happy and thankful that he came to me and I felt his presence. All of this was very good. My soul felt lighter and for the first time in almost a week, I was finally “okay” with what happened, knowing that he was, in fact, okay. 

 Of course, I still miss him horribly. I got a memorial tattoo of his likeness on my thigh and am going to get another small tattoo on my wrist showing Mother and Son because that’s how I felt about him. He was more than “just a dog”. He was part of me. I worked from home and was with him almost every single day of his life. When we first got him, the owner of the company I worked for had passed away and the business closed. For months, I was with him 24 hours a day. We had another dog Duke which was the reason we got Jakey to begin with. We wanted a companion to Duke but since he was dog-aggressive we couldn’t bring in an adult dog; it had to be a puppy. Even though Duke terrorized him those first couple of months he grew to love Jake and, I believe, see him as son also. 

World Peace Day 

World Peace Day Meditation at Sandy Bottoms Nature Park

On September 21, 2018, I attended a gathering for the World Peace Day Meditation with a few people at Sandy Bottoms Nature Park  (https://hampton.gov/142/Sandy-Bottom-Nature-Park). Some people I already knew, some I just met. One of the new people, I’ll call her “Mary”, unfortunately, was way beyond peace within herself. I felt so bad for this little girl (21 yrs old or so) because she just appeared so lost. She was new to the area and like most people was reaching out to find solace through meditation and hopefully new-found friends. She had found out about the meditation from Meet Up; an app that people use to meet people with similar likes. This little girl just broke down in my arms and started crying when I was talking with her. Part of the meditation was to go to person to person and really look at them and be mindful. During this time she and I were holding hands and being “mindful”. Being mindful is being in the moment. We were looking at each other and we were not on our phones or thinking of bills. 

She just crumbled in my arms and broke crying. I just held her and stroked her hair and told her it was okay to cry. Sometimes we just need a release and the tears just need to come. That she was in a safe place and it was okay. Afterward, she said she felt better, and we went on with our meditation.  I feel like this person kind of gave me a purpose in my metaphysical life. I have all this knowledge due to my degrees from the University of Metaphysical Sciences and have always been very loving and helpful to the point where people have always told me to “toughen up”. Maybe this girl was a sign of what I can do with my metaphysical information and still be true to my genuine self and not be embarrassed or try to change just to suit other peoples ideas of what I should be. I was really happy that I went. Now I just got to figure out how to use it.

Interesting side note: While I was intermittently reaching out and holding hands with the people I knew and the loving strangers that I just met, I actually gave them “readings” in the sense that I spoke from what came from the heart and told them what I thought of them, even though I had just met a couple of them. I’m always asked at Chapel to give messages at the end of services but so far haven’t been able to. I feel like this visit to the Park for World Peace Day Meditation was the Universe telling me I can do this and I am on the right path. 

 

Wow! I can’t believe it’s August already. It’s been so long since I’ve added a post only because life, as it is for most of us, can get crazy busy sometimes. Between work, familial obligations and just generally trying to get things done, time really flies. (They should make an expression out of that!) Our business Professional Sewer and Drain       continues to be a roller coaster of very busy times and very slow times. Ahh, the joys of business ownership. My grandbabies keep getting bigger by the minute and my other babies, my doggies always demand a lot of attention. On June 19, 2018 I lost my sweet boy Jake. He was as sweet as he was beautiful. It’s always a painful experience when our sweet fur babies leave this world. We got him when he was 5 1-2 weeks old and had him under he succumbed to cancer at 12 1-2 years old. 

 He had such pretty eyes people that it was a trick of the light but nope it was really his eye color early on. He was such a beautiful and loving dog and he will surely be missed. I actually got a memorial tattoo of him on my thigh. But you can’t take away from the beauty of these pictures.

A COURSE IN MIRACLES

A Course In Miracles is “a complete self-study spiritual thought system . . . it teaches that the way to universal love and peace-or remembering God-is by undoing guilt through forgiving others.” (www.acim.org) Although the language is of traditional Christianity verse, it expresses a non-sectarian, non-denominational spirituality. The book has been a mainstay in the New Age movement and has been called a “sacred scripture” by J. Gordon Melton, author and founding director of the Institute for the Study of American Religion and Wouter Hanegraaff, author and a professor of History of Hermetic Philosophy.

The teachings were channeled from Jesus to one of the authors, Dr. Helen Schucman and transcribed by William Thetford, a psychologist, and author. They are daily teachings to help us evolve into spiritually enlightened individuals that are looking for a way to battle the “ego” which the Course uses “to denote wrong-mindedness, while right-mindedness is the domain of the Holy Spirit, Who teaches forgiveness as the correction for the ego.” (www.facim.org)  

Kenneth Wapnick, an author and longtime teacher of ACIM, states “the metaphysics of A Course In Miracles is non-dualistic, as it expresses one pre-separation state: God. In fact, the Course can be said to represent what we may call a perfect or pure nondualism. This form of non-dualism holds not only that God is truth, and all else is illusory, but that God is in no way involved in the illusory and unreal world of perception.” (http://en.wikipedia.org) He states that Jesus was a symbol of God’s love and not the historical Jesus of Nazareth.

These teachings have spun a wide population of believers and students alike that are striving to become enlightened in their spiritual path. “Since it first became available for sale in 1976, over 1.5 million copies have sold worldwide in sixteen different languages” (http://en.wikipedia.org) There are study groups, websites and books that explore the teachings of A Course In Miracles. Here is a story from one of my friends that has read one of these books and has felt the effect of it.

 

 I was 27 years old and suddenly divorced. I had just returned from Germany with my 19 month old daughter, Meagan. I was desperate, feeling unwanted and wondering where my life was going as all my dreams had been crushed. I needed a job, a place of my own and a plan to get Meagan and myself on track to a happy life. I had begun to read a book called A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”: the author was Marrianne Williamson.

It helped me open up and I realized that no matter how badly I was hurt I could never live without love and that I would take a chance and trust again.

One afternoon I was driving down the road feeling especially sorry for myself. I was having a relapse of the “Why me?” syndrome. I felt completely and utterly alone.

I looked in my rearview mirror, to my amazement I saw Grandpa Howard and Donnie sitting in my back seat smiling at me. Donnie looked so handsome and Grandpa so loving. They were just beaming. They were so joyful and radiant. Donnie was murdered when I was just 5 years old and Grandpa died of a stroke while I was away in Alabama at age 10. I missed them both terribly and had fantastic dreams and nightmares about their deaths during my childhood.

It couldn’t have been more than 3 seconds or so that I looked at them in my mirror, I wasn’t scared or startled. They were there with me -this was not a glimpse out of the corner of my eye. I had an overwhelming feeling of peace and I realized at that moment I was never alone and we people, humans, energy, are all connected and always will be. Whether this was a real ghostly experience or a manifestation in my mind to help myself in a dire situation I don’t know. I do know this: I saw them, they were with me, and they are still with me.

It still gives me great comfort to know that no matter how close or far I may think they are, no matter how low I get, they are still around and love me.

 

PRECOGNITION

Have you ever went to pick up the phone and knew who was calling before actually answering it? Do you have a sense of what someone is saying and you feel you could complete their sentence for them? Precognition is defined as “knowledge of a future event or situation, especially through extrasensory means.” (www.dictionary.com) According to “the Mystica-An on-line encyclopedia of the occult, mysticism, magic, paranormal and more . . .”

Usually, the majority of precognitive experiences happen within a forty-eight hour period prior to the future event, most often it is within twenty-four hours . . . Severe emotional shock seems to be a major factor in precognition. By a ratio of four-to-one, most concern unhappy events, such as death and dying, illness, accidents, and natural disasters. Intimacy is also a major factor, 80 to 85 percent of such experiences involve a spouse, family member or friend with whom the individual has close emotional ties. The remainder involves casual acquaintances and strangers, most of whom are victims of major disasters such as airplane crashes or earthquakes. The difference between precognition, premonition, and prophecy: precognition involves knowledge of a future event while premonition involves the sense or feeling that something is going to happen; whereas all prophecy is precognition, but not all precognition is prophecy.” (www.themystica.com)

Here is a very moving story from a friend of mine that had a similar experience.

One day, years ago, when I was doing hemodialysis at the Acute Unit at Bon Secours DePaul Hospital one of my patients was just very sick. She had lost a leg and was just generally physically sick and sick at heart-          tired of being sick and of the effort it took to keep going day to day. Dialysis takes a lot out of a person and then to lose a leg, well, she was at a very low point in her life. Now she was a very spiritual person, not someone who talked about it, but someone who lived her love of God and showed it by always being gracious to those of us around her and never complaining no matter how bad she felt. This day she had just left the dialysis unit to go back to her room and as I said she was really at a low point. Shortly after she left I heard them call a “Code Blue” (cardiac/respiratory arrest, but I’m sure you know that) on her floor. Immediately (and it makes me cry now to think about it) I felt such a sense of peace, calmness, and release. I knew she had died and had gone to her reward. But it amazes me still how I knew she had died and how I felt her relief and her thankfulness at going home to her maker. There was no doubt in my mind that dying was a joyous occasion for her.

BACHELOR PROJECT FOR DEGREE REQUIREMENT

As a requirement to receive my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Metaphysical Sciences, I needed to do a Bachelor Project. As “compendium” is a collection of detailed information I decided to name my project “A Compendium of Metaphysics”. I came across it the other day and decided to post it in a couple of different posts because it had examples of my friends and families experiences with metaphysical topics. As it is seven (7) pages I decided to break it up into three (3) different posts. I would love to receive any comments regarding this as I was very proud of the way it turned out when I wrote it five (5) years ago. 

At first, when broached with the prospect of having to do a creative project, I was a little stumped. I’m not a painter or singer and I was unsure of what to do. So, like many times in my life when I was unsure and needed guidance, I turned to my friends. I asked them if they had any ideas for me or any stories for me to do for my project. The response was fantastic. As it turned out, many had had experiences of faith with messengers or have felt enlightened and in touch with God. Unfortunately, not all of the stories were able to be used due to the length of the paper constraints. Below are their stories, for the most part, in their own words although not verbatim due to grammar and length of stories. This is a collection of subjects concerning only a few of the many topics covered by the broad spectrum of “Metaphysics.”

 

GOD

Most of us have been fortunate enough to have felt the presence of God (or a higher entity) at some point in our lives. Whether we are convinced it was “God” or “Budda” or something or someone else, these feelings are intense and unmistakable. Here is one story of feeling the presence of God and being enlightened, if only for the moment.

 

21 years ago, 6 months after my daughter was born, I received a call from my doctor’s office. The doctor said I had to re-check my Pap Smear because of some suspicious cells that he found. A week after having the second Pap Smear, my doctor called me into his office. He was in tears. He told me that I had 4+ cervical cancer. We discussed options like a procedure to scoop out the cells or a hysterectomy but all I could think of was “why is he crying so much?”

I left the office in a fog-in my own world-numb and depressed. I went back to work and kept to myself. Everyone around me was bitching about their petty problems and all I could think of was “I have 4+ Cervical Cancer!”

Three or four days later, still incredibly numb, I came home from work late and everyone was asleep. I felt I needed to pray. I went into a spare room and lay on the floor. I began to pray to God but I was also bargaining with him. “Please God, let me see my daughter grow up and I’ll do anything I need to do.” Finally, feeling great despair, I decided this was just too big for me. I decided to give it to God and I told him, it’s all yours. Do with it what you will. It was at that point that I felt peace and a great relief.

Later, as I was getting dressed, I heard a voice behind me. I thought it was my ex-husband so I turned around but no one was there. The voice said, “It’s going to be okay.”

I truly believe this was God telling me it’s going to be alright. And within the next two to three years due to many surgical procedures, the cancer was gone and I was truly okay. I believe God spoke to me that day.

 

EXISTENCE AFTER DEATH

When family and/or friends pass away, it is a very difficult time in our lives. We miss them and wish we could see them, just one more time. Sometimes, we feel their presence and know they are watching over us. Here are a couple of stories that show just that happening.

My dad died when I was 19 years old. Three days later at around 2:00 a.m. in the morning I was reading a book in my bedroom when my door opens up and it’s my Dad. He comes walking in and says, “Put the book down and go to sleep.” Astonished, I told my mom about it but she wasn’t surprised. She told me that he visited her also. She was smoking a cigarette and fell asleep in bed at around 2:30 in the morning. She said he woke her up and told her to put the cigarette out and by doing so, saved her life. She told me that when she comes back to see me after she passed, she wouldn’t scare me.

My mother died when I was about 27 years old. About three days after her death, my sister wanted me to come home, which I did. When I fell asleep I dreamt of my mom. She said, “I told you I wouldn’t scare you. Let’s go to our favorite restaurant and visit relatives.” We went to the pastry shop and it was like we were really there. I slept for 13 hours during this dream. I woke up and burped Chinese food which is what I had in my dream, but not in real life. When I told my sister about the dream, she told me she had the exact same dream, with the same places and when she woke up, she too had burped Chinese food. I believe we truly went on a trip with my mom that night.

MESSENGERS

Angels are everywhere in today’s culture. We see Angel pins and Angel posters in our stores. Greeting cards have beautiful depictions of winged beings with loving faces. They are in books and stories and even on TV. Do Angels really exist? I believe they do. I believe that we have our own Guardian Angels that guide us through life and help us through difficult times or through difficult decisions we have to make. I believe these Angels sometimes come to us in the form of Messengers. Here is an example of one of those visits.

 

During this period of time, my mom’s health was uncertain and she and I had shared a lot of Gnostic beliefs.  One day she had shared with me that she felt that God was not listening to her any longer and she felt like giving up.  I sat with mom for several hours sharing my beliefs and asked her to pray to Azna (Mother God) for assistance.  Mom didn’t really believe in a Mother God but I asked her, “what harm could it do if you’re feeling alone?”  She said that she’d consider doing so and went to bed.  The next morning was her scheduled Chemo day and usually, we went to the Chesapeake Office but this day we had to go down to the Virginia Beach office.  When mom came out of her room I noticed that she was wearing the same red sweater that she had worn the previous day and I asked her why.  She said that she wasn’t sure why but something told her to wear it.  We left and drove to the beach office.  As usual, I went back into the treatment room with her while she was receiving her chemo but after sitting there with my back hurting I decided to go wait in the car. 

 

I was relaxing in the Yukon when I had this feeling that I needed to go back inside with Mom.  When I walked in the treatment room the look on my mom’s face actually frightened me and I called the nurse over.  I asked the nurse what was going on and she (Rubie) said everything was okay and she would let my mother explain.  I looked at my mom and noticed that she was holding a slip of paper in her hand.  Mom said that she was reading her book when this man showed up next to her, bent down and gave her this piece of paper.  He told her that he turned around and came to the Beach office looking for the lady in the red sweater and then he left.  Mom called out to the other 20 or so ladies in the treatment room and asked them if they saw the man.  She asked the ladies sitting on both sides of her and nobody saw the man.  I asked Rubie if mom was having side effects of the new drugs and she just laughed at me.  Rubie said that she believed that mom had a visitor.  Mom and I talked and she told me that she had prayed to Azna asking why/if God was abandoning her because she felt so alone and full of fear.  I went and got a bible and we looked up what the man had written down on the paper.  Written on the paper was “Psalms 27.” Simply put that Psalms passage told her that “I have not forsaken you, I am with you”.  Mom and I both broke out in tears for I truly believe that a messenger was sent to my mother on that day.  The peace that she felt and shared with me overwhelms me even to this day. 

 

WELCOME TO METAPHYSICS MADE EASY

Metaphysics can be confusing to some people. Many have heard of it but not all truly understand what it is. Doing a search reveals metaphysics to be “the branch of philosophy that deals with the first principles of things, including abstract concepts such as being, knowing, substance, cause, identity, time and space.” Although I like that definition, it isn’t very clear. For the last eleven years, I have been trying to decipher the mystery of metaphysics. My goal is to help others understand it also. Having the honor of attending The University of Metaphysical Sciences (www.umsonline.org) has assisted me in this journey. I have gained much knowledge and two degrees. They have many topics ranging from Shadow Work and Transforming Personality to Connecting with Angels and learning about Archetypes. Their curriculum insured that my expertise would be vast.

I originally began these classes for intrinsic reasons; mostly to learn about meditation. These courses have been paramount in assisting me on the path to where I am today. I enjoy talking with other like-minded people who are interested in metaphysics.  Sharing their experiences has taught me a lot. It was in pursuit of this that I found The Metaphysical Chapel of Life (www.metaphysicalchapeloflifenn.weebly.com) not far from where I live. I was surprised that I had not heard of it sooner and was sooo excited to have finally discovered it.  I suppose I must not have been spiritually available to it until just at that moment. As always, the Universe provides things only when we are open to receive them.

Having been on the board of directors at the Chapel, I have been awarded the privilege of speaking and presiding throughout the year. We have a different speaker and presider each week which keeps it interesting as everyone brings their own different topic or view to the podium. This keeps the services interesting, entertaining and informative. Everyone is very loving and caring and it’s always a pleasure to attend. I have acquired many new ideas and data from my fellow congregants.

Many of my friends ask me questions about metaphysical topics and I relish sharing my insights. It is because of this that I decided to start this blog. There are many topics I’d like to share. I’ll be drawing from my individual experiences and stories, my speeches that I give at Chapel and also from papers that I’ve written in pursuit of both my Bachelor’s Degree in Metaphysical Sciences and my Master’s Degree in Divinity. I plan on uploading the videos that I’ve taken while speaking in case you would like to see the full topic.

I’ll also be sharing a lot of interesting websites that I’ve found throughout the years that I enjoy. There are books that I’ll review, and I’ll check out different blogs and articles and share my opinion of them with you. I will be uploading videos of the speeches in their entirety if you would be interested in hearing more about that particular topic. I encourage comments, questions, and feedback. As this concludes this post I end by saying “Namaste” to you. Namaste is a respectful greeting or acknowledgment spoken with a bow and praying hands. Broken down the literal connotation is “Nama” meaning bow, “as” meaning I, and “te” meaning you, “bow me you” or “I bow to you.” I have seen many versions of the following saying but this is the one that I use.
